A Frontier Airlines flight from Nashville to Denver was delayed for more than two hours this week after a woman allegedly shouted she had a bomb on board, according to court records.
The woman now faces multiple charges, including public intoxication, disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, and false reporting.
How the Incident Began
The confrontation started when flight attendants determined the woman was too intoxicated to fly. According to her arrest affidavit, the crew repeatedly asked her to leave the aircraft.
Instead of complying, the woman allegedly yelled:
“I have a (expletive) bomb, so nobody is going anywhere.”
When Nashville police officers boarded the plane, she refused to move, bracing her feet against the seats in an attempt to resist removal. Witnesses say she then shouted, “It’s right there,” referring to the supposed bomb.
Flight Delay and Police Response
The flight was originally scheduled to depart at 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday. By the time police arrived at the boarding gate around 7:50 a.m., the plane was already delayed.
- All passengers were deplaned while law enforcement conducted a thorough search.
- A Frontier Airlines spokesperson, Rob Harris, later confirmed that no bomb was found.
- Passengers were eventually allowed back on board, and the plane departed just before 9:45 a.m.
According to FlightAware, the incident delayed the Denver-bound flight by over two hours.
Frontier Airlines Statement
In a statement following the scare, Harris emphasized that the decision to remove passengers was made “out of an abundance of caution.”
He added that once the search was complete, passengers were reboarded and arrived in Denver safely.
The Charges
Court records show the woman now faces the following charges:
- Public intoxication
- Disorderly conduct
- Resisting arrest
- False reporting
Authorities have not yet released additional details about her identity or possible penalties.
✈️ Bottom line: A disruptive passenger caused hours of delays and panic, but thanks to quick action by the crew and Nashville police, the incident ended without injuries — and with all passengers safely en route to Denver.
