LOS ANGELES (AP) — A flight delay caused Los Angeles Dodgers manager Dave Roberts to arrive late for the team’s workout on Sunday, just one day before World Series Game 3.
Travel Troubles After Game 2
Roberts told reporters he arrived at Dodger Stadium around 5 p.m. after a lengthy and frustrating trip back from Toronto.
“There were some delays. I don’t know if there was intent or not,” Roberts joked. “But, man, the international stuff was a bear. But we made it. We made it.”
He added that part of the delay involved sitting on the tarmac, though he didn’t specify the exact cause of the holdup.
Dodgers Travel Logistics
The Dodgers used multiple planes for their traveling party after Saturday night’s Game 2 at Rogers Centre, where Los Angeles earned a 5–1 win to even the Series at one game apiece.
Pitcher Tyler Glasnow confirmed that his flight was not delayed, highlighting that only part of the team experienced travel setbacks.
Meanwhile, the Toronto Blue Jays departed after the game and arrived at their Los Angeles hotel around 4 a.m. Sunday.
Fastest World Series Game Since 2017
Saturday’s Game 2 — which ended at 10:45 p.m. EDT (7:45 p.m. PDT) — lasted just 2 hours and 36 minutes, making it the fastest World Series game since the 2017 opener.
Dodgers pitcher Yoshinobu Yamamoto delivered an outstanding performance, pitching a four-hitter for the first complete game in a World Series since 2015.
Looking Ahead
The World Series resumes Monday in Los Angeles, with the Dodgers hoping to carry momentum from their Game 2 win into a potential Series lead at home.
